Solid bamboo is technically a wicker bamboo. Contemporary hollow bamboo frames are usually mounted on a supporting wood frame and wound in the corners. At Story of Hawaii, we don't like the modern variety. They have theirs made in Thailand to look like the bamboo frames you may still encountered in elderly people's homes, as part of a collector's prized collection, or at auctions, but which are no longer made in Hawaii.
